Our staff is a small but dedicated group of farmers, writers and educators, complemented by contributors from all over the world.

Kai Lange is a farmer, grower and teacher and is coordinating the BDAC work based training and quality assurance. He has been involved in biodynamic education since 1985 starting in Germany. He aims to inspire people’s love for land work and believes that biodynamic practice is the most wholistic and works well alongside all agroecology movements. 

Nir Halfon is passionate about education and training people in biodynamic and regenerative farming and gardening. He has been involved with the Biodynamic Agricultural College since 2009 as a teacher, administrator and since 2016 as a trustee. Until recently he was a grower at Plawhatch Farm and currently works at Plumpton College as a program manager.

Alysoun Bolger has been involved in biodynamic education and training for 20 years. She has also been a certification officer for BDA Organic and Demeter Certification in the UK and is currently on the Executive Board of the Biodynamic Federation Demeter International. Originally from the US, Alysoun currently lives in the west of England and has been involved with BDAC online learning since 2012.

Jonathan Code (BA, M.Ed) is an educator, author, crafts practitioner and gardener. He teaches and undertakes research in the ‘fields’ of consciousness studies, the western esoteric tradition, the history & philosophy of science, agroecology & agri-culture, and integrative education. Jonathan is a senior lecturer with the Crossfields Institute, a lecturer at the Royal Agricultural University (RAU) Cirencester, and he runs workshops in crafts and practical skills contexts. Jonathan has contributed to Biodynamic education in the UK and internationally for over 20 years. His book Muck and Mind; Encountering Biodynamic Agriculture is distributed by Lindisfarne/Floris books.

Mark Moodie was so sceptical when he first heard about biodynamic agriculture, he has spent over 30 years asking questions and building up the picture. Part of what he has found is available 24/7 at www.considera.org

Page Dykstra is the Online Learning Coordinator for BDAC. She completed the work-based training at Stroud Community Agriculture in 2016 and has gone on to work for several agroecological organisations in the UK including the Gaia Foundation Seed Sovereignty programme and the CSA Network UK. Page also works as a farm inspector for BDA Certification and lives in Gloucestershire, England. 

Trustees

Abby Rose, a farmer and soil health advocate, was named one of 50 New Radicals by The Guardian and Nesta in 2018 for her work in Vidacycle Tech developing simple apps that help build ecology, profitability and beauty on farms around the world. In 2015 Abby co-founded the award-winning podcast Farmerama Radio. Based in London, Abby splits her time between working on her family farm, Vidacycle, in Chile, and visiting farms on multiple continents learning from soils and understanding what it’s going to take to build a more ecological farming future. 

Laurence Smith is a Lecturer at the Royal Agricultural University where he is contributing to module development and teaching. His research is focused on the development and application of sustainability assessment tools and farm-system modelling. 

Jenni Rosenbrock is an educational consultant with a background in teaching organic horticulture to children and young people with special educational needs.  She enjoys gardening at home in an urban environment, and volunteering at the biodynamic Moss Valley Market Garden in Sheffield.

Mark Aldington is a homeopath based near Stroud and has a special interest in combining biodynamic and homeopathic methods to develop and use remedies for soil, plants and animals for health improvements and remediation. Until recently, Mark has been a partner in an award-winning (2001) organic farm in Wales, which was fully certified organic in 1993.
